Numerical Simulation of Hydrate Formation in the LArge-Scale Reservoir Simulator (LARS)

The LArge-scale Reservoir Simulator (LARS) has been previously developed to study hydrate dissociation in hydrate-bearing systems under in-situ conditions. In the present study, a numerical framework of equations state describing formation at equilibrium conditions elaborated and integrated with flow transport simulator investigate multi-stage experiment undertaken LARS. A verification implemented modeling carried out by benchmarking it against another established code. Three-dimensional (3D) model calibration performed based on laboratory data available from temperature sensors, fluid sampling, electrical resistivity tomography. simulation results demonstrate that profiles, spatial distribution, bulk saturation are consistent observations. Furthermore, our can be applied calibrate geophysical measurements, optimize post-processing workflows for monitoring data, improve design experiments, temporal evolution sub-permafrost methane reservoirs.
